Helps your little people by supporting creativity, cognitive development, dexterity, fine motor skills, colour mixing and fun. Like all our crafts, you probably already have everything you need. From start to finish our skeletons took 1hr.
The dough isn’t sticky, is easy clean up and only has three ingredients, water salt and flour. And unlike the traditional recipe doesn’t take hours to dry out.
What You’ll Need:
1 c flour
1/2 c salt
1/2 c water
Add water a little at a time until dough holds together but is not too sticky.
Roll out to 1/4″ thick and let your little people cut out shapes.
Use a straw to make a hole that you will thread a string through later.
transfer onto a piece of wax paper.
place in the centre of microwave and heat on high for 5 minutes (it may take less – check after 3 minutes).
We used large shapes, smaller shapes will take less time.
If you can peel the way paper away from the back, its done – if not put it back in and cook some more.
Once cool to the touch let your kids decorate, we used craft paint. The skeleton was indented into our dough, so we used watered down white paint and let the paint fill all the indents, without actually painting them…when it dried it made the cracked pattern. Extra spooky.
